Lucia Hope - Serving Los Angeles County, California, USA
Imagine waking up tomorrow and realizing that every child in Antelope Valley has a safe place to sleep, every parent has access to nourishing food, and every family has the support they need to thrive. What would it mean if we could win, sustainably, the battle against homelessness for women, children, and families in our community?
Los Angeles County faces one of the most severe homelessness crises in the nation, with more than 72,000 individuals unhoused. Families, women, and children are disproportionately impacted, especially in Service Planning Area 1 (Antelope Valley).
Lucia Hope proposes the development of an 81‑acre trauma‑informed community that integrates rapid‑deployment housing pods, education facilities, food security programs, workforce development hubs, and wraparound services into one holistic environment.
- Immediate relief for hundreds of families in Phase 1.
- Scalable to 12,000–32,000 individuals housed at full build‑out.
- Alignment with Measure H, Housing for Health, and LAHSA initiatives.
- Creation of a replicable model for generational change in Los Angeles County.
